Message from our Founder

I founded CareRunner while caring for my ailing Father. Like many of you, I was overwhelmed by the demands and stress of being responsible for someone I care about so deeply. It didn’t take long to see that there were few really good resources to help me figure it all out. In talking with friends, I realized that many of us are in the same situation – caring for a loved one, wanting to do the right thing, limited in our resources and lacking the know how to get it all done.

CareRunner was created so that we can all help our loved one’s when they need us most. From the resources you’ll find in Online Tools, Expert Advice and Goods and Services, we’ve tried to provide the resources to help you to stay organized and find the information you need to provide great, loving care. Hopefully, you’ve already found CareRunner.com to be a great resource. The site is still young but growing every day, so please keep coming back to see what’s new and improved. With your feedback, we will continue to improve the site and add new features to help you.

Ready to hire home care for a loved one? Here are some important things to remember when discussing the option of home care with your aging loved one: hiring a professional Home Care Aide does not mean your parents will lose their independence. When your loved one hears you suggest that a ‘stranger’ assist them, there will likely be some resistance, especially if they are only somewhat aware of their diminishing capabilities. Be slow, patient and understanding. Read the full newsletter for additional helpful information.
